How It All Began
Hello, Adventurers! We’re Agnes Stabinska and Chris Labanowski, founders and owners of this blog. We’re thrilled you’ve landed on Alaska Itineraries & Travel Tips. Our love affair with Alaska ignited in 2019, and it was so transformative that we knew we’d be back for more. We said goodbye to our 9-to-5 grind, hopped on a plane to Vancouver, and bought ourselves a rugged 4×4 camper truck. Why? To tackle the Alaska Highway and delve deep into Alaska’s awe-inspiring wilderness, of course!
Our journey didn’t stop at Alaska’s borders. After soaking in the natural wonders of The Last Frontier, national parks, wildlife, scenic towns, and we set our sights on the Lower 48. We zigzagged through the Southwest’s red-rock canyons and the Pacific Northwest’s lush forests. For nearly 9 months, our camper truck was our home, our office, and our window to America’s diverse landscapes.
The Unexpected Detour: COVID-19
Then came the pandemic. COVID-19 forced us to hit the brakes like a roadblock on an open highway. We sold our trusty camper and hunkered down at home, joining millions in a global pause. But we turned this pause into an opportunity to distill our experiences into invaluable travel advice, filling our first blog, The Van Escape, with rich, first-hand content. We had a treasure trove of photos, memories, and invaluable tips. So, we turning months of isolation into a period of creative sharing.
The Call of the Wild: Our Return to Alaska
As soon as travel restrictions lifted, our wanderlust flared up, pulling us back to where it all began—Alaska. We’ve since returned multiple times, exploring every inch, from the Arctic Ocean’s icy touch to Homer Spit’s scenic charm. Whether by rented car, cruise ship through Inside Passage, or another go at camper life, we’ve done it all. Our nights have been spent in a mix of hotels, campsites, and public lands—always with a slight thrill, wondering if a bear might drop by for a visit.

As we journeyed through Alaska, we received countless inquiries about Alaska trip planning and realized we had amassed invaluable material.
